Picnic in Preston

A picnic is a fun and easy way to get together with family and friends and everyone is able to relax and enjoy the fresh air, the soft grass and the warm sunshine. However, in the larger cities it can be hard to find such a tranquil picnicking spot, so you may have to go on a short trek in search of the perfect patch of grass.

However, after your searching you don’t want to arrive too exhausted to relax and there is always the risk of collateral damage to the picnic basket which can become a bit travel-worn.

Therefore, if you would like to have the perfect picnic, load your pic-a-nic basket and your picnicking pals into a limousine and set off for Preston where there is plenty of grass to choose from. You will even be able to store your picnic supplies in the limousine fridge during the trip to ensure they arrive at the picnic rug fresh.

Around the Preston city centre are five picnicking parks, three of which are flying the green flag after being recognised by the Civic Trust for their high standards of environmental, safety and security measures.

The park at Boilton Wood is on the north east side of Preston and runs in a narrow band along the edge of the River Ribble. Boilton Wood is one of the largest remaining areas of ancient semi-natural deciduous woodlands in the north west, and as such, is home to insect species not usually found in Lancashire, woodland flora and birds and wildlife aplenty.

Beacon Fell is a park made up of woodlands, marshland and farmland and has a summit which is 266 metre above sea level providing breathtaking views for any picnic occasion.

After you have all gorged on the picnic supplies, you can make your way as slowly as you like back to the meeting point for your chauffeur who will take you on a smooth ride home.
