The driver had been suffering an earache and the cold in the cabin of his truck was making it worse. Unfortunately this is when he was stopped by police, who weren’t initially convinced of his story.

However, once he appeared in court, the truck driver was able to produce his phone records which showed he had not been making a call when he was stopped by police and so he escaped without any charges.

Unfortunately not everyone has such legitimate excuses for holding their phone to their ear while driving and usually the phone is at your ear when you’re driving because you’re talking to someone on the other end (oops, shhh!).
