Excuses to Warm Your Ears

If you’ve ever been pulled over by the police and even if you know you weren’t doing anything wrong, you can often feel a little tongue tied and find yourself just able to answer their questions. However, luckily for one German truck driver that he wasn’t doing anything wrong and he was sure of it because he was able to quickly produce and explanation as to why he was holding his mobile phone to his ear while driving.

The truck driver told the court that while it looked like he was using his mobile phone while driving, he was only using it as an ear warmer. The driver had been suffering an earache and the cold in the cabin of his truck was making it worse. So, while the truck driver waited for the heating to take hold, he took his mobile phone, which was warm from being on its charger, and held it to his sore ear. Unfortunately this is when he was stopped by police, who weren’t initially convinced of his story.

However, once he appeared in court, the truck driver was able to produce his phone records which showed he had not been making a call when he was stopped by police and so he escaped without any charges.

Unfortunately not everyone has such legitimate excuses for holding their phone to their ear while driving and usually the phone is at your ear when you’re driving because you’re talking to someone on the other end (oops, shhh!). So, if you know you need to make a phone call when you are going to be behind the wheel, or if you are expecting important phone calls and want to be free to answer them and make intelligent conversation with the person on the other end instead of being distracted looking for the police, you need to hire a limousine.
